"There is no truth. There is only perception.” Gustave Flaubert
In this unit, we will be examining how things are not always as they appear, but we will also be exploring why we see things the way we do. Everyone understands the world differently. I want to know how you see the world.
How do you perceive (see) the world? Who or what have been the greatest influences on shaping your understanding of life? How have they shaped your view of life? Has your understanding of the world changed as you have gotten older? Do you think it will continue to change as you get older?
Please respond in 150-250 words no later than 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15. You will lose points if your response is under 150 words, if it is late, and/or if it does not reflect your own ideas.
The world to me is just a place where we live and do what we have to do. The world is corrupt and It is hard to find caring people sometimes. Although there are bad things in this world there are also beautiful things like the mountains, the beach, and nature in general.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma and parents have definitely helped me to understand life and tell me things that will help me, hint me to things. My grandma mainly because she tells me all the stories of what it was like for her in the 50’s and 60’s etc. She tells of what is alike as that time and what was different. My parents do the same and also tell me and give me ideas that would be better than what I thought. They have helped me in ways I can’t even begin to explain.
When I was really little, I used to think everything was fun and games and just easy! I mean you go to preschool and come home, nap, play with toys and watch your favorite shows while you eat! Easy right? Well as school starts to advance and you start getting into relationships it becomes hard and you start to see “hey! my parents were right. Life is very hard.” I think as the days and years to come happen it will be even harder like when I get married and have children of my own and trying to explain to them how hard life will be and give them experiences I’ve had. THere will also be great things to reminisce on like when you achieve something great like a medal or recognition or wedding day or the day your children were born.
It will definitely change when I get older. right now I want to be a dentist and get married and have children and live in South Carolina or somewhere warmer. That could all change depending who I marry and where their job might move us. So we will see what will happen in the future :)
I personally do not think anyone has the complete understanding of life. I believe that people have similar perceptions, but not the same. The only people that might have the world in some understanding would be the senior citizens of our society, because they are filled with the most wisdom. As you get older you get wiser due to being in many more situations than the younger folk. My older brother would probably be the person that taught me about the world more than anyone. I think the world is more focused on what everyone else is doing and not on themselves. The reason our world is so messed up today is because everyone is trying to find the shortcut to success when in reality, the shortcut is leading you to more problems. Our world today is too worried about how quick and easily they can achieve something, rather than putting in the actual work needed for that goal.
ReplyDeleteYes, this life is like an elephant in a dark room. Each of us can only understand a part of it.
DeleteWhen I was 7, I ate broccoli so I could stop crying. I like broccoli. How do we as people, perceive the world as we do? Well we perceive the world because of our surroundings. Who really has the greatest influence on you though? It can be your parents, celebrities, even music can influence the way you see the world. These influences can shape the way people see things in many ways. For example, for us, bugs are known to be disgusting creepy crawlies to us, but to others, those bugs are delicacies. Another example is how one perceives one’s sexual orientation. Some are more open to it because they were open to it as a child and others weren’t My understanding of the world has definitely opened as I have gotten older. I’m more open to other things and I don’t judge on looks, whether that be in food or people. I don’t judge in sexual preference. You can be homosexual, heterosexual, transgender, whatever, if that’s what makes you happy you do you. I won’t judge, I only judge on personality. I’m not sure how my views could change as I get older because I’m already open to so many things.
ReplyDeletewhen i was 7 i thought broccoli was witch toes
DeleteI perceive the world as a vessel for mankind, where all our ideas, beliefs, and impacts form together. I personally believe I am a product of my environment, Every event that has occurred to me, every person I met, every object i interacted with has somehow influenced me in a way; no matter how insignificant the impact is. In the nature vs nurture debate, I am obviously a huge proponent of nurture. As such, all these influences shaped my view on life. The thing is, is that no ones perception of the world is truly correct nor truly wrong. However you interpret life can be completely different from another’s interpretation, yet it doesn’t mean either interpretation is wrong. I used to look at the world with only one set perception, but as I grew older I started to grow empathy and was able to see the world through different eyes, even if they collided with my own original perception.
ReplyDeleteI think Nature and Nurture are roughly equal, although I think you can deny your natural instincts if you really want to.

ReplyDeleteI think the world can be sought out in many different perspectives. We were put on Earth for a reason and we just live. We do what we have to do in our daily lives until the end, and it’s just a cycle. I never really have had a great influence other than the people around me. Watching people, including myself, grow and fall in their lives has helped me understand life itself. When I was a kid I always had these dreams and perspectives about life, and of course me being a child, those dreams were unrealistic. I set ideas on what life was going to be like and as I got older, I guess I can say reality hit me. The world isn’t soft and life comes at you hard. I think life will continue to change as I get older and gain more knowledge and have the ability to do more things.
I perceive the world as great but yet a bad place. In some ways i think the world is great because of all the good things that we have that surround us, i think that if it weren’t for the history of our planet none of us would be here today. People don’t really take the time to appreciate what we have and i believe that that is something we should change. I also think it’s not a great place because of all the danger and crime there is, those are things that impact someone’s life. I would say that my parents and teachers in a way have taught me how to understand life by teaching me everything i have to know before i go off on my own in the future They have prepared us for reality, they have taught us everything we need to know. My understanding of life has changed somewhat. Things that i thought were ok they’re not but that just part of a stage that every person goes through when they start maturing. I definitely do think my understanding of life will change as i get older, i feel like it will change everyone’s view of life around me, but i think we’re great people and we will be okay. It’s like Gandhi said “Be the change you want to see.”
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a dark place. I feel as though people don't treat others fairly and I think that everything you do comes back to you. The greatest influences in my life have been my parents, only because I live with them everyday and they have the most impact on my life. They have shaped my view of life by they way they think or the way they interact with others. I am completely different from them, but at the same time I am the same. My understanding of the world has definitely changed as I've gotten older. I used to not really understand what was going on, now I see how cruel the world can actually be. I do believe that I will view the world differently as I get older, only because I will know more.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a place of destruction. Although there’s a lot of good going around in the world, I feel like there’s people doing more bad than good. My mom has been a big influence on shaping my understanding of life. Since she is who I grew up around mostly her views on everything is what I heard mostly. So, a lot of her thoughts and opinions just automatically became mine because I was too young to understand what was even going on in the world. Although I agree with my mom on a lot of subjects, as I have gotten older I have come to shape my own opinion. I am still a child now and don’t fully understand the world because I have yet to experience it fully. Yes I think my perception of the world will continue to change as I get older. As I start to become an adult I will encounter more hardships in life. I will start to live a life of my own and not under my parent. Living a life of your own comes with many ups and downs, so based on those things the way I perceive the world might change for the good, or for the bad.
ReplyDeleteMy view on the world is pretty basic. I look at this world as just the first stop of something to come. Like this life on this planet is something that is short coming and wont last forever. This world though is so vast but at the same time so little to what there is out in the far beyond. What is there to become of us when all comes to end? Guess we wont know till it happens. Honestly I think you should just live life with no doubts or worries. Yes you will struggle, and yes you will fall, but in the end all that wont matter because everything has to end and that includes this world that we live in. I see life as a blockage to what things COULD be and what we miss out on. BUT whatever no one need to know whats really going on with this world and life for it just gives us something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI see the world as a vast place full of diversity. Sometimes it can be hurtful and unkind, but it also can be beautiful and wonderful. My dad has been one of the main influences for my outlook on life, also many of the books I have read have influenced me. My dad taught me that there is beauty in the world. That everywhere you look, you’ll always find something beautiful, whether it be a tree, or a person. Books have taught me that there are always going to be bad people in the world, and sometimes you’re just going to have to suffer through it, while other times you have to be able to stand up for yourself. My understanding of the world has changed, it has become more corrupt. I used to think that everyone would take consideration for others and be level headed and logical about situations, but soon after I entered middle school, I realized that not everyone does this. They say really cruel and unnecessary rude things to others and don’t think about the others feelings. I’ve learned not to put too much faith in people as you never know what they might do. My views might change as I get older but I do not think they would change much.

ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I use to think everything happens the way its suppose to. People die, and people are born everyday. Good people do bad things sometimes. Its “okay”. Its always been this cycle, that never became close to changing. I thought the world was this happy place where everything is okay, but in reality its not. As you get older, you change and things start to make an understanding in your life. For me, I changed with it, but I realized that I was somewhat right as a child. Everything happens for a reason, but sometimes that reason is not always good. Life is not meant to be easy, and happy. Were suppose to work hard, and have bad days. But life is also a beautiful thing, you just have to look at it that way. As well as being happy is actually a choice you make regardless of what comes your way in life. I honestly think my outlook on life, came from my religion, reading books, and traveling. I’ve seen so much of the world to know that, Its not always good, but thats for the best. I read many thing that’s happening to this world, and I personally think its getting worse and worse as it goes on. My grandmother once told me, “The world is a horrible place, but the world is only horrible because of the place.” and If your think about that, Its really true. We made this world into what it is today. God created it, but we formed it to fit us, and as life goes on, I think we will continue to change it. I’m not sure if it will get better, or worse but I know It will evolve into something different. I really think people perceive this world on a personal level. It’s what they believe, not what others say. But if people would realize life is the journey, and not the destination, maybe things would go a lot better, and people would live a little more in the way of benefiting us, and this world.
ReplyDeleteI like the quote you shared that your grandmother said to you.
DeleteI perceive the world with a variation of many things. The world can be beautiful but also a mess. For me, it all depends on what I let influence me and what I rather see, as in blocking out the negativity. Letting the negativity in, you will view a different side of the world. The world basically reminds me of the yin yang symbol. The world to me is balanced with both positive and negativity. The greatest people that has influence on me are my parents. Each of them teach me values and my knowledge of understanding. My understanding of the world has drastically changed as I been getting older. The older I get, the more knowledge of understanding I have. I’ve learned and seen things differently now than what I used to when I was younger. I used to focus on little things as in what i’m doing today unlike now I focus on everything from today, tomorrow, and the future. There’s more to look to as I am getting wiser therefore I definitely think it will continue to change as I get older. For example, my parents are older than me and they’re still learning but they do perceive everything differently than I do. The reason why I think that is because I still do not have the complete understanding as they do. Saying that, this is the reason why it’s important to listen to elderly people because they have more experience/understanding.
ReplyDeleteVery good response Ms. Diana
DeleteI believe the world is just a place that ton of people live on. The world has been here for billions of years and it will be here for many more after everyone on Earth pass away. The mass media has a huge influence on how people see the world. Parents also have an influence on how their kids see the world. A lot of the time, a child’s perception of the world change as they grow up and become a young adult. My perception of the world has changed as I became a young adult. I use to believe that everyone in the world was suppose to find their soulmate and once they find them, they were suppose to be happy forever. My younger self got this idea from Disney princesses and their love stories. I learned this idea was incorrect because I had a friend when I was younger whose parents would fight so much. The couple did end up splitting up. My friend’s mom stayed at their house and once he was gone, she was so much more happier. Seeing them fight, I realized that you aren't going to be happy all the time. I think my perception will stay the same as I grow older.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a bad but good place to live in. You have people that don’t treat others nice, then you have people that do. My parents have been the greatest influence on shaping my understanding of life. They have helped me realize that if you want something you’ll have to go get it yourself. They also helped me realize that you cannot depend on another hand. Nobody has your back like you have your back. My understanding of the world has changed over the years because when I was younger I thought the world was a nice place. But as I got older, I realized that the world isn’t as beautiful as it seems but it is a beautiful place. There are people who do not care about your feelings, there are people who will kill you and not think about it, and there are people who actually care about you. I think how I see the world will continue to change as I get older, because I’ll experience more things.

ReplyDeleteI see the world as a very scary place not only because of the dangers in it but the people, us humans can be so cruel and it scares me how judgemental society can be. Though it is scary there are definitely people that you can agree with and there are good people in this world as well, its not all bad all the time. My greatest influences that shaped my understanding I would say would have to be my girlfriend, my favorite music artists, and society. Starting with society, it has shaped my view of life by making me realize there are horrible people and problems out there that people will judge without knowing the situation to whatever extent. My favorite artists have shaped my view by giving me messages in their music which made me realize a lot of dumb things society does and really opened my eyes. My girlfriend really shaped my view of life in the most positive way, she made me realize that there are plenty of ways you could change the world positively for example by being judge-free and understanding that everybody has their own opinion, their own style and to respect that no matter what. She made me realize there’s always a reason to be happy, and my reason is her. My view of life changed more when i was younger rather to when i was older, i used to think the world was really happy and good and there was no problems up 5th to 6th grade, and now it seems almost the opposite. My view of life might change as i age but honestly i have no control over my future so i’ll just see what happens but for now i’ll stick with maybe.
I see the world that is full of different kind of people who got different views. I also think that the world is not a fair place because their a some people who got millions of dollars and some don't even got food to eat. My parents and my friends have been my greatest influences in life because I live with my parents and get to see them. My friend also because I have friends from when I was like four or five. Other things like my home city Brooklyn and my favorite sport basketball because in Brooklyn we all love playing basketball and a lot of people are really good over there so that influenced me to become a better basketball player to fit in with them and know I want it to be my my future job. They have shaped my view of life by telling me was good and bad for me. My understanding of the world has changed as I got older because I know that life isnt fair to everyone and a one point I am going to have to go out and have a job and make money. I think it will continue to change as I get older because I will understand things better and i'll be on my own later in my life.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a place to live before Christ comes back. It’s not the best but it will do for now. There’s good and then there’s mostly bad all around the world. If I had to say who had the greatest influences on shaping my understanding of the world like this it would be my mother and father, mostly my father though. The reason I think he is, is because I go to him for help and advice, he is the one that talks to me the most about the world and how to perceive it. He shaped my understanding by telling me all about the world and when something is wrong in the world and when something is right when I was young. My understanding of the world has changed a good bit since I was younger by how I think of things if right or wrong and my gaining knowledge from school and my parents. I believe my understanding and thinking will change of the world as I get older.
ReplyDeleteI see the world as a place where people live their own lives and they can live the same lives too. The world can also be a very scary place because if you haven't experienced much of the world you can be unprepared for everything you will face. My parents have been the greatest influence on shaping my understanding of life because they have taught me what was right and what was wrong. They have also taught me everything I need to live a successful life in the future. My friends have also been an influence on my understanding of life. They have taught me about how to have fun and live my life. My view of the world has changed as I have gotten older and I think it will continue to change as I get older. I think I will see the world as a completely different place.

ReplyDeleteEveryone starts their beliefs sharing that of their parents. You start off with their religion and their point of view. As time goes forward you have new experiences and you begin to develop your own opinion and beliefs. I share none of the same beliefs as my family members because i have grown to see and understand new things. I see my body as an empty vessel that my soul is residing in. I see everyone as equals. I see every decision I make as a cause for a bigger effect later. I do believe my views will change as i grow older, I have plans for myself. Every mistake i make is just a lesson for the future, every time i feel pain it’s just partially a way to show me I can’t just feel pleasure. I’ve grown to know that my actions mean something and that i can effect more than just myself.
How do I perceive the world? I see the world as a place of Beauty with ugly and negative people on it. If you just step back and look at the Earth we live on, one can only imagine what it would look like. Clear blue skies, blue sparkling water, all of the mountaintops and deep valleys. Im sure its a breath-taking view, but unfortunately there are people living on the this earth that doesn’t appreciate it. My mom and my peers have the greatest influences on how I understand life. I was born in a christian family who goes to church every week and that’s just something that has been stuck with me. I was taught there was a God and his son, and that there was a heaven and hell. When I was younger I use to always think that everybody was nice and friendly and that the world was just a perfect place. We could go outside without worrying about a thing, but as I grew older I started to see all the negativity in the world and how bad things are. Its crazy when you need to be protected from the those who are suppose to be protecting you. You can’t even leave your kids in the car anymore nowadays because there’s always that one person who can’t love himself enough to love other people. As I get older I’m sure my understanding of the world will change, but until then we have to get through this hell on Earth world.
ReplyDeleteI like your broad worldview and your open mind.
DeleteThis world is full surprises. Everybody sees something different this world. In my eyes this world is full of hatred, threats, anger, and competition. Is there really such thing called peace? Well if you really look at it the world is completely filled violences and cruelty. According to history their so many things that causes corruptions such as Wars, Terrorist Attacks, Genocides, viruses, survival of the fittest, and many more. Theses events shapes our world today which is covered with competition. How can we say that the future is a very bright setting. I believed that this planet is way too big for a place to call peace. There are some things that are peaceful but it surely does not outnumber the chaos that has happened in this world. Species in this world are in danger from each other, they fight each other for survival. Just look at the destruction of all of violence of nature, there are dangerous objects such as weapons, poison, predictors diseases underemployment and many more. Look at what’s going on around and see what it really is and tell me how can we peace.
ReplyDeleteI see the world as a considerable globe full of endless opportunities and various obstacles. The world can be a very adverse place to live in or it can be a disadvantage. I have many different imprints that shadow my perception of the world. The Bible, my family and my Pastor have played a big part in shaping my understanding of life. The Bible has demonstrated how I should live my life on a daily basis. My family has exemplified how I should love the world and the people in it, like I love them. My Pastor has manifested how to be a strong, christian woman who still knows how to have fun without being mischievous, in a world like such. I do believe that my perception and understanding of the world has changed since I was younger. I also believe that my knowledge of the world will change as I get older. As I get older I will become more responsible for what happens in the world around me. From here on out I will think more about how I view the world.
ReplyDeleteI think the world is a wonderful place. With all its natural beauties and how everything seems to balance itself out. The only thing that I could possible find wrong with the earth, is the people on it. I mean not all people are bad in the world but there are quite a few of bad people on the earth right now. With all that's happening right now I just that it is a phase that the world is going through that will eventually pass. Sure things right now may seem a little grim but I assure everybody that it will pass over in a few years. What has really shaped my perception on the world to day is the people I hang around. I see a lot of potential in everybody and I think that this generation will be the generation a lot of good will be done for the good of mankind.
ReplyDeleteI try to perceive the world with seeing the good things even though all of these bad things are happening . I perceive the world as a dangerous but inspiring place where you face challenges everyday. Pointing out the good in situations make life much better. My parents shaped my perception of things but I have my own perception of a lot of things. They have shaped my view of life by telling me how they see certain situations and how they see the world in their eyes. Growing up with me listening to how they see things have kind of showed my mind one way to see things but as I have gotten older my perception on things have altered. Since I am older it seems I have got more mature and found a better understanding of how the world is. Getting older helps me have an open mind so I can see the world in different way or perceptions. I think my perception on things as I continue to get older will keep changing because as you get older you get wiser and get more experience on things.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world by knowing money makes the world go round. By that i mean money controls us it is what you need to survive in today's world it's not like how it use to be when you could trade certain items for other things without having to pay. My great grandpa has the most influence on my life. He shaped my view of the world by telling me to much money isn't enough money or by telling me that he has to die with money because he wasn't born with it. No my understanding on the world will never change because its true that money makes the world go round that's how it will be until mankind is extinct because if you dont have money you want be able to do anything in today's world if you don't have any money. No my view on the world will not continue to change because it will never change because my view is the truth.

DeleteI think the world is always changing and we can’t do anything about but watch. Why would we want to ruin something so beautiful anyways? Even though there are wars and illegal things going on this world is so beautiful. Maybe one day when we get older or when my kids grow up there will be no wars or crime. All we can do is hope these things come to an end and we enjoy how beautiful this world is. Somebody who has helped me see how the world is, is my parents. My parent have helped me see sometimes marriages don’t work out. Not everything will be perfect but I am grateful they are trying to work things out. Many kids have to go with just a mom or just a dad. Although my parents don’t know what they are teaching me it helps to understand some things I should know when I get older. When I was younger I never really thought about the world but I was very grateful for the animals we have on this planet. I like to go hunting will my dad a lot and I would need animals to hunt and kill. I really hope the world does change when I get older because I know it will change for the better.
ReplyDeleteI look at the world as many different things. I think the world is full of people with many differences. Now, I am a Christian , so my understanding of the world, is that God put us here to see the image of his self. But when you think about it , all this bad stuff that goes on in the world is ridiculous. The world is a dangerous place to live, nobody is safe to me. No matter how much security you have or how much privacy you think you have , you really dont . especially in the United States, we claim to be free , but were really not. We still have restrictions here. The world is corrupt and full of lies and bad decisions . Nobody knows the truth about anything. All we know about the world , is what we learn and what people tell us. You may be able to do your own research , but who says that , that is the truth. Im just saying the way i see the world, is a place full of lies and corruptions and we are all in the middle of it. And yes i do think my perception will change when i am older.
ReplyDeleteI see the world as a place full of hardship, but with an abundance of opportunities. However these opportunities do not come easy. People in this world are cruel and will judge people for every move they make. Anybody can do and be whatever they want. My grandfather had a huge shaping in the way i see the world. He brings christ into every situation he or I face. This has lead me to believe in thing differently than others. As i have gotten older though, I developed my own ways. I have experienced things, and seen things that changed the way I look at the world. But I think as I gain more experience in life my outlook will most definitely change. Hardly anybody can go through life and hold on the the mindset they had as a child. What i want for my life right now, there is no telling if in 7 years (or however many years till i finish school) i'll still want that. The things and people i want and think i need right now aren’t going to be here in 15 years. All the relationships aren’t going to mean a thing. All these teenage problems we all think are so bad are going to seem so small when we look back and think about them. There is no way i wont change. Life throws too many obstacles at us for us not to learn from them and become wise. People change, lives change, so our outlooks on life must change with us.
ReplyDeleteMy view of the world is you get what you put in. I view the world as money hungry everybody wants to be successful. Sometimes I view the world as angry and competitive everybody want's there own way. People have been the greatest influence in the world for me, they shaped how much I can trust and rely on others. Of course everyone is different so you can't catergorize everyone. My view of life depend on yourself and don't trust a lot of people. The worlds changed over time which makes it hard. Of course my understanding of the world has changed as I've gotten older. I used to think everybody would be there for me and the worlds was a fair place, sadly that's not true but I do have a few I can depend on. I think with more expierince my views will change they are still changing now at 16. I want to make it out on my own without anyone. The world isn't an easy place to live in but you have to make the most of it. I try to laugh as often as and look at the positive in most things. I also try not to let people see me upset to much I like to keep my friends happy. Maybe as I get older I can learn to trust more people. My grandma has had the most influence in my life, she's tough and accomplished most things by herself through hard work and I would like to be just like her.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world just as anyone else. My views however are more of scientific ones; a very realistic point of view. I couldn't ever find a particular person that changed my views on life, but I could definitely say science has. I love science for many reasons because science is what progresses mankind and allows us to live more efficiently although sometimes more lazy as well; allowing us to not have to do as much. Science has 100% impacted my outlook on life, almost in every way. Science can't give you answers for everything but it sure has for many. I've just always wanted TRUTH to life, and science is the closest thing to this. But this hasn't always been the case until at about 14 I began to have a more: "whats here is here and what isn't isn't" kind of approach. I don't think my understanding of the world will change in the future...
ReplyDeleteI think the world is great but then again it has its downfalls. Some really good things about the world is that we have our rights and freedoms, but then the downfall of that is that people take those for granted. I guess what im trying to say is us the people we shape the world and we cant really speak for anybody but ourselves. Us as a generation are shaping this world from what we know when we need to shape the world from what we are learning. I cant really say anybody else but my grandmother has made me realize things in the world such as people will do anything as long as they get something in return. She has also informed me that money is the root of all evil and that is what makes the world go around. With that being said i think that technology is going to be our future. Everything is about technology and now a days we cant do anything as simple as pay our bills without technology. Its many different views of the world and people take it different ways but the overall thing is we are the future and we are shaping this world everyday.
ReplyDeleteHow i view the world is basically just a place that we are all stuck on and are in hopes of when we do die we get to see ¨God¨ but in all honestly i don’t know what to think because the world is so corrupt i just don’t understand why this is what this world has come to. All this ¨police brutality¨ and stupid crap that is constantly changing the world into a more corrupt place because people think that if something happens and it ends up on the news then they think ¨Oh yeah let’s just go riot and tear down all our neighborhoods¨. But that’s all besides the point, my views on the world have changed by myself but honestly the views i have are solid and i can explain why i view the world the way i view it. People in this world and their beliefs make me so mad because if this world ever was really ¨blessed” by God then why is the world so corrupt? Why is there so many things wrong on this earth? Why is this place how it is? Why do people still go to hell even though ¨He died on the cross to save ALL of our sins¨. Why is hell a thing? My view is that hell is a stupid made up place to trick people into believing in god and trying to stay good in his name to make it to so called ¨heaven¨ that is so wonderful you won’t ever be in pain or agony or anything there. But how do people know that there is a heaven? Have they been there? Have they seen it? Oh wait, maybe god ¨talked to them¨ and told them about all the glorious wonders of heaven and that if you follow him you will go to heaven and if you don’t you’ll go to the horrible place called hell. Just this place is not something i want to experience anymore. I’m tired of being labeled as a bad person for not believing in god or any views in that matter. I’m tired of having to experience all the pain of this world. All the stupidity here, just everyday someone asks me why i don’t believe in god or why i’m not religious but is it any of their concern? Not really but when they ask me i can give them so many valid points that they don’t know how to respond or they say well the bible says this or the bible says that. But what they need to realize is that the bible was written by humans exactly like everyone else. There was nothing special about them. So how do i perceive the world? In my eyes this world is corrupt and idiotic.
ReplyDeleteI believe the world is a very a big world of people who are trying to survive day by day and make something meaningful of their life. I believe the world and life is beautiful no matter what is going on around us. I believe we all have a purpose and we all make a difference and that is what shapes our world. My mom is probably one of the biggest influences i’ve had on my perception of the world. She’s taught me how to understand things even when it seem impossible to understand them. She’s taught me that we all deserve a chance to go out and live life whether it’s for good or bad and that everyday is a new day to start over and try again. She’s shown me how to be strong and compassionate towards others because one never gets to fully meet someone. We only know the parts that people show us because who wants to meet the bad side of someone ? Probably not many of us. My view of the world has changed and continues to change as i get older. I’m learning and as i learn i experience and well my view will always continue to change.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a not good nor a bad place. Every part of the world has its problems, some worse than others. My grandparents and my sister are the ones that influenced my understanding of life. They told me that my choices impact the way I will live my life. My understanding of the world changed a lot once I got older. I started to see more of the things that I hadn’t noticed when I was younger. I believe that everyone is trying to make fast money which is causing them to have a lot more problems than needed. I see a lot of people judging other based on their looks, their sexuality, where they’re from, etc. I pretty sure that my perspective on the world will change a lot more when I get older. I will be able to experience it from outside of my grandparent’s home and on my own.
ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a place where we cherish but also a deadly place. Every state is going through an obstacle, it seems like every month there’s violence going on. I don’t know what to expect in the future. We all have a purpose on this earth, either we were born to accomplish or we were born for no reason. I believe i was born for a reason, God , and my family sees potential in me. My big brother inspires me to become a better teen, because whenever he felt like giving up he would push himself hard. My perception on the world will change casually because, as you get older you become more wise. The world makes me frustrated, you have people killing other humans for childish things. But I know when to do the right thing, and when to leave things alone. Money changes people in many ways for example, they become arrogant and have ego problems. The world is yet positive but also destructive.
ReplyDeletei see the world as a fairly good place!! but there is always bad people out there who make the world seem like a bad place!! My parents and sister have influenced me the most the one thing i hold onto the most is trust nobody cause you cant trust anybody cause you never know when somebody is going to turn on you, i would say that my life is good like i love the world because i dont mess with nobody and nobody mess with me so i cant complain about anything going to bad!! i would say when i was little i though the world was the greatest thing in the world and probably starting middle school i actually started noticing the bad things in life! yes my thought continue to change now!!!!
ReplyDeleteTo me the world is just on big messed up place, it’s cruel and corrupt. people really don’t care for eachother, you live your life worrying about nobody but yourself. it’s rare to find those special people who really do care. The world is just kind of stupid. People care too much of what others do and think about them when it really doesnt matter. there's bigger problems than someone having on knock offs people just have nothing better to do with their life than talk about others. everyday people are starving, being bullied, committing suicide, killing, you name it. dont get me wrong the world is a wonderful place full of mysteries and adventures but it could be better if more people cared. my experiences throughout life have shaped my views. i've seen people be bullied to the point that they just can't take it anymore, i've had close friends pass away and i've seen things that completely broke my heart. as a child i was sheltered from these things my parents did their best to make sure i seen the world as a positively, that didn’t last long. as i got older the world turned dark. my uncle did drugs and got arrested, my aunt died, a family friend killed herself because of bullying, these events and many more shaped my views of the world. i know my views will continue to change as i get older, it changes everyday.
ReplyDeleteI see the world as a place that was once beautiful but is now slowly becoming more and more corrupt everyday. No one completely understands this world we live in but many try. It is sad that it’s becoming into a place where it’s hard to trust people and much easier to watch your own back. The greatest influences on my life have been my parents just because when i was younger they taught me what right and wrong was, but anybody can influence people’s lives like celebrities. Parents teach you what is good and what is bad in many different ways whether it is through stories of their own childhood or just coming out and telling you when something is wrong. My parents shape my view of life by giving me the basic of what my goals should be and letting me decide and build on top of those foundations of what I should want in life. Things like going to college and stuff in that category. My view of the world has changed as i have gotten older. Things come clearer to me than they did before. I definitely do think my perception of the world will change as i continue to grow as a human being and contribute to society.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the world is only a temporary place for a short time. In most religions people believe in another place after death for the spiritual body to live eternally. My religion has helped me to get an understanding of the world and the people in it. My parents also have given me a good understanding. It is a no brainer that no one lives forever, even as a child my parents were honest with me and told me to enjoy life because you never know when your time will come. Overtime my view of the world has certainly changed I think overtime the world has gotten worse. There has always been violence and cruelty but in today’s society it is getting worse everyday. The world is forever changing and will continue to change as time goes on and the way it’s looking now it’s not getting any better.

ReplyDeleteI perceive the world as a very diverse place. Theres a lot of different people and how they treat you. My family has been the greatest influences to me on how to understand life. They have shaped my life by telling me the right things and the wrong things to do. They have taught me how to be a good person and to be successful in life. Yes, my understanding of the world changed as you have gotten older because getting older you understand a lot more than you use to. You have more knowledge than you use to, so now you know how to really live your life. Yes, I think life will continue to change as I get older because I still have a lot to learn about the real world.
ReplyDeleteWe perceive the world the same way as most other people. We only listen and know what the government wants us to know about and that is not always the truth. We also learn how to perceive the world by what are parents perceive. For instance if your parents are racist then you will perceive the world as being that you are superior to other human beings. The government has the largest part in our perception on the world, even more than our parents. The government tries to fights for equality for everyone, but in reality discriminates against white male christians in the middle class. As I have gotten older I Have began to notice this discrimination become more and more prevalent in the world. I believe that the older I get the more I will continue to notice this and begin to be looked over for this simple fact in jobs, and in scholarships.
